A tragic early-morning shooting at Hicks Park has left one person dead and a teenager fighting for his life, according to police.
Authorities in Tulsa say the incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Monday after a large group of teens and young adults gathered in the area following a nearby party.
Officers responded to reports of a fight at the park and, upon arrival, discovered two victims in the parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. A 23-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 16-year-old boy was transported to a hospital in critical condition.
Investigators say the group had initially attended a party near 29th Street and Sheridan Road. After the gathering ended, attendees reportedly moved to a nearby QuikTrip location but were asked to leave due to overcrowding. The group then relocated to Hicks Park, where a fight broke out before shots were fired.
At this time, police have not identified any suspects or confirmed what led to the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
This is a developing situation, and updates are expected as more details become available.
